Ever wondered why you woke up early this morning to spend a little longer on your makeup, yet it still isn't looking great? Well you might just find that it's your makeup brushes that is the problem! What some of us fail to realise is that more than half of our skin related problems such as blemishes, is down to having dirty makeup brushes! But fear not guys I'm here to give you a quick and effective way to deep clean your makeup brushes!
First of all collect all your brushes you are going to clean, place them onto a dry towel next to a bowl of lukewarm water
Then choose your makeup cleaner, I use the Tesco Baby 2 in 1 Shampoo & Conditioner, alternatively you can use the Johnson's version but I find this just as effective. It is gentle on your brushes compared to a regular shampoo
You then want to take your brush, one at a time and just place the tip into the water to dampen the brush, remember to not wet the whole brush as this will only cause hairs to fall out and your brushes wont last long
You then want to pour a small amount of your shampoo into the palm of your hand
Swirl the brush around in the shampoo until your start to see the makeup run out of the brush, I like to repeat this process twice so I know my brushes are thoroughly clean
You then want to gently ring out the shampoo under luke warm water again until it has all gone, place your brush on your towel to dry over night. Your brushes should be all dry and clean in the morning to use again!
Repeat the process with each brush, foundation brushes and sponges take the longest as they hold more product. Remember to also clean beauty tools such as eyelash curlers by giving them a good wipe over using a cleanser or a makeup wipe
I recommend cleaning your brushes every 2 weeks for your own personal use
